Indian External Affairs Minister arrives for 2-day official visit

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar yesterday arrived on a two day official visit.

Dr. Jaishankar is visiting Sri Lanka and the Maldives at the respective invitations of his counterparts of the two countries. 

He will participate in the BIMSTEC Ministerial Meeting in Colombo tomorrow.

Indian External Affairs Minister’s arrival follows the recent visits to India by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa in December 2021 and earlier this month and that of Foreign Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris in February 2022. 

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar’s visit comes at a time when the country is grappling with its worst economic crisis.
