Japanese ship SETOGIRI calls at Trincomalee

Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ship SETOGIRI (DD-156) made a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka from 20 to 22 December, 2017.  She was on her way to Gulf of Aden for participating in the anti-piracy operation. During their stay in Sri Lanka, the crew joined several programs including joint exercise and beach cleaning programs with the Sri Lanka Navy.  SETOGIRI also invited Sri Lankan children on to the deck to observe the vessel. The children received gifts from the ship and the Embassy of Japan.
