Joint venture wins bid to improve three grid stations

A joint venture of China's TBEA Shenyang Transformer Group Company Ltd., and Sealex Engineering Ltd., has won the contract to carry out improvements to the Nadukuda, Chunnakam and Aaniyakanda Grid Sub Stations.

The project will be financed under a bank loan of the Asian Development Bank. The Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers recommended the awarding to the joint venture after evaluating the bids invited following the international competitive methodology.

Cabinet approved a proposal from Power Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi to award the contract with the concurrence of the ADB.
