Justice, Prisons Affairs, and Constitutional Reforms Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe PC yesterday conducted an observation tour of the newly established Commercial High Court’s Court Room 01, showcasing cutting-edge technological advancements.
The Ministry of Justice said the new courtroom boasts a range of technological additions and facilities, aligning with modern standards seen in developed countries. It added that the courtroom also includes provisions for presenting evidence via platforms like Zoom. During his visit, Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe paid special attention to the innovative seating arrangement designed for presenting evidence, a departure from the traditional docks commonly found in courts. Officials including Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam, Ministry of Justice Secretary Wasantha Perera, Office of Missing Persons Chairperson Mahesh Katulanda and others also accompanied the Minister on the visit.
