Korean envoy calls on Speaker

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Santhush Woonjin Jeong recently paid a courtesy call on Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana at the Parliament of Sri Lanka. 

Ambassador Santhush noted that the parliamentary diplomacy between Korea and Sri Lanka has been robust and further strengthened by the successful official visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Park Byeong-Seug in January. The intense bilateral dialogue during the official visit highlighted that Korea attaches great importance to its parliamentary relations with Sri Lanka. They held a fruitful discussion on the positive outcomes of the official visit of Park Byeong-Seug and also deliberated on ways to promote high level parliamentary exchanges in the future.

Both Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana and Santhush Woonjin Jeong reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation on areas of mutual concern.
