Kudos for Sri Lanka in US for ratifying Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons

Chesapeake Physicians for Social Responsibility (CPSR) President Dr. Gwen L. DuBois MD, MPH, and a CPSR representative visited the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C. on 24 January to present a certificate of recognition to the Government of Sri Lanka for its commitment towards the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW).

The President of CPSR, representing CPSR and Prevent Nuclear war-Maryland extended their gratitude towards Sri Lanka for being the 69th nation to ratify the treaty which coincided with the third anniversary of the treaty entering into effect.

The CPSR is a local chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) in the State of Maryland. The PSR is the US affiliate of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985.
