LG poll nominations cancelled

The Ministerial Advisory Committee yesterday reached a unanimous decision to cancel the nominations submitted by political parties for the Local Government election which was indefinitely postponed by the Government over lack of funding.  The consensus was reached during yesterday’s meeting of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government.

It was highlighted that the absence of the Local Government election has posed difficulties for the candidates who had previously submitted their nominations. To address this challenge, the nominations submitted under these circumstances have now been officially revoked.
