Lankan envoy in Belgium meets with VIVES University students prior to their visit to Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan Ambassador to Belgium Chandana Weerasena briefed a group of 23 final-year university students of the Tourism and Recreation Management Program of the VIVES University in Bruges, Belgium, prior to their departure to Sri Lanka for a field trip. 

The field trip is a part of their study program. West-Flanders region in Belgium Governor Carl Decaluwe, Bruges Mayor Dirk De Fauw; the Rector and several other senior staff members joined the briefing.

The Ambassador and other distinguished guests also witnessed the culinary talents of the international students at the Flanders Culinary Arts Centre of VIVES University. The Embassy and the VIVES University are working towards organising a Sri Lankan culinary session at the Flanders Culinary Arts Centre of the University.   

During the program, Ambassador Weerasena conducted a comprehensive presentation covering Sri Lankan tourist attractions, specialised sectors in tourism and hotel industry, sustainable and eco-tourism in Sri Lanka, and also explained why European tourists should consider Sri Lanka as their next destination.
