Lankan envoy in Warsaw meets Sri Lanka Community Association in Poland

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Poland Priyangika Dharmasena met with the Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Community Association in Poland (SLAPL) on 27 September 2024 at the Embassy. 

During the discussions, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of closer interaction between the Embassy and the Sri Lankan community in Poland which would be beneficial for both sides in addressing matters related to the welfare of the community, and also for the furtherance of goals envisaged by the Government. Furthermore, she pointed out that registering with the Embassy would facilitate easy communication, especially in times of emergency such as natural disasters, and with regard to special events held by the Embassy as well. In addition, the meeting fostered discussion on consular matters. 

The Ambassador also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Office of the Overseas Sri Lankans Affairs (OOSLA), to reach out to Sri Lankans abroad, through Sri Lankan missions. 

The Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Community Association in Poland expressed their interest in maintaining close collaboration with the Embassy, and ensured that the Sri Lankan community in Poland would be well informed and updated on the matters discussed.
