Madduma Bandara named UNF General Secretary by Sajith

United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian Ranjith Madduma Bandara was named the General Secretary of the new UNP-led alliance to be headed by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa. 

In a statement, Premadasa said the decision was announced at meeting with UNP organisers at the parliamentary complex.

Premadasa also said that given the current tense situation globally over the coronavirus outbreak, he felt it was necessary to concentrate more on the situation in the country rather than focus on politics. He pointed out that he valued the safety of citizens over any political agenda.
