Magistrate Court extends Cabraal’s travel ban till 7 June

The Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday extended the overseas travel ban imposed on former Governor of the Central Bank Nivard Cabraal till 7 June.

The order was issued by Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, when the petition was filed by Nalandaramaya Temple in Nugegoda Chief Incumbent Thiniyawela Palitha Thera against Cabraal on charges of misappropriating State funds.

As per the order issued yesterday, the travel ban will be in effect until the completion of the case that is being heard against Cabraal at the Fort Magistrate’s Court.

The case was postponed to 7 June and notice has been issued on Cabraal to appear in court on the same day.
