Mahajana Eksath Peramuna calls on EC to inform political parties on Presidential poll 2024

Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) yesterday called on the Elections Commission (EC) to inform all political parties on the status and procedures of the upcoming Presidential Election.

MEP General Secretary Attorney at Law Tissa Jayawardena Yapa made this request in writing following a meeting held with Elections Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Rathnayake and Director-General Saman Sri Rathnayake at the Election Secretariat in Rajagiriya.

In the written request, MEP insisted on informing all political parties regarding the existing Constitutional provisions, legal situation and administrative process concerning the Presidential Election slated for 2024.

The MEP also urged the EC to convene an immediate discussion summoning all political parties to address these matters comprehensively.
