Marikkar says can support all-party Govt. whilst being in Opposition

SJB MP S.M. Marikkar yesterday said it is good to offer support to a national Government to work towards offering relief to the public, but remarked MPs should not be fishing for ministerial positions to achieve this objective. 

Marikkar said it is important for Parliament and the country to have a functional Opposition to keep things in check, and ensure there is no malpractice taking place in all aspects of governance. 

He said the party is ready to offer its support to an all-party Government to ensure there is a conducive environment for the country to receive all necessary support from the IMF and other international bodies. 

Marikkar said it was essential that all MPs and parties put aside politics and work for the benefit of the country to ensure the revival of the economy. But, he insists this could be achieved without taking up positions in Government.
