Massive hartal today

Over 1,000 trade unions from the Government, semi-Government, private sector and civil organisations will participate in a massive hartal today demanding the Government to step down immediately.

The Hartal Committee Trade Union Coordinating Centre (TUCC) has warned that it will change into a continuous hartal from 11 May if the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa-led Government do not take steps to respect the public opinion. 

Activists from health, transportation, train, power and education sectors are set to participate in the countrywide hartal today.
