Power and Energy Minister, Kanchana Wijesekera announced yesterday that discussions on proposed reforms for the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and key developments in the energy sector were reviewed with development partners.
At the meeting held on Wednesday representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC), Reform Secretariat and Reform Committee reviewed and discussed several crucial aspects.
Key topics on the agenda included a thorough examination of the final draft of the electricity bill, implementation plans for proposed reforms and the technical and financial assistance pledged by development partners.
In addition, the structuring of new energy projects, determining tariff methodologies and the establishment of bankable power purchase agreements were also discussed.
