The Presidential Task Force for ‘One Country, One Law’ Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera said that a large number of civil society organisations and individuals are joining with the task force to express their views on the concept.

The office established at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) was open to the public from 20 - 23 December to submit their opinions.

During these few days, religious leaders, civil activists, journalists, businessmen, professionals, representatives of political parties, Muslim and Buddhist religious organisations and women organisations representing various provinces and civil society organisations visited the office, the Thera added.

People visiting the office, irrespective of race, religion or provincial differences, were particularly keen on the new concept of ‘One Country, One Law’.  Ven. Gnanasara Thera said seeing this concept become a reality by the majority of the people, including those living in the North and East, is an influential stimulus to the development of the country.

The Thera further added that the office is open to all those who wish to express their views personally, and at organisational level, and that he and his team is committed to gather all such views at any time.

Ven. Gnanasara Thera also said that the task force is conducting a study to enforce the ‘One Country, One Law’ concept, adding that the Task Force will fulfil its responsibilities within the given time frame in a transparent manner.

Secretary of the Presidential Task Force for ‘One Country, One Law’ Jeewanthi Senanayake and other members of the Task Force were also present.
