National Fuel Pass to be topped-up every Tuesday: Energy Minister

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said the National Fuel Pass will be topped up weekly every Tuesday at midnight to reduce distribution costs on weekends.

Taking to Twitter, he said all accounts have been topped up on Tuesday morning.

“Decision was taken to reduce distribution cost incurred for operating the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) on weekends,” Minister Wijesekera explained.

Previously, the National Fuel Pass was topped up weekly, on Sunday at midnight.

However, he said the weekly fuel quota provided at present will remain unchanged.
