New Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army

Major General Rohitha Aluvihare of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment assumed duties as the 64th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army at the Army Headquarters yesterday. He joined the Sri Lanka Army on 26 July 1988 and was commissioned and posted to the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 5 October 1990. Prior to his new appointment, he served as the Commander of the Security Force – Central.
