New Northern Governor to up female representation in public sector

Newly appointed Northern Province Governor Dr. Suran Raghawan yesterday said he expects to increase the female representation at all state institutions in the Northern Province up to 50% by 2020-2021.

He expressed this view at an event held at the Governor’s office to celebrate Thai Pongal.Religious leaders representing all religions attended the event and invoked blessings on the Governor and other attendees.

Dr. Raghawan was appointed as the Northern Province Governor on 7 January by President Maithripala Sirisena.
