New Uva Province Governor assumes duties

Newly appointed Governor A.J.M. Muzammil assumed office as the Governor of the Uva Province with the blessings of the Maha Sangha and other religious leaders at the Governor’s Office yesterday.

Assuming duties as the 13th Governor of the Uva Province, A.J.M. Muzammil commented, “It is indeed an honour to serve the people once again. I thank His Excellency President for bestowing his trust in me. I will serve the people to the best of my ability.” Maha Sangha including other religious leaders, Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers, Parliamentarians, Mayors, Chairmen of Local Governments, Uva Province Chief Secretary P.B. Vijayarathna, Secretary to the Governor Mrs. Ambanwela, and officials from Government agencies in the Uva Province were also present at this occasion.
