One COVID-19 death brings fatalities to 558

The death of a 70-year-old individual from Matugama was yesterday confirmed as COVID-19-related, bringing the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 558.

According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, the individual tested positive for COVID-19 while receiving treatment at the Kalutara District General Hospital and was then admitted to the Homagama Base Hospital.

However, on 25 March, he died of heart disease and COVID pneumonia.
