Year 2022 marks the 80th anniversary of the appointment of the first representative of then Ceylon to India. In 1942, the then Government of Ceylon had appointed late Sir D. B. Jayatilaka as its first Representative to India with residence in New Delhi.

With a view to celebrate this important landmark event of bilateral relations between India and Sri Lanka, the Pathfinder Foundation and Vivekananda International Foundation have decided to commemorate the occasion in a befitting manner.

With this in view, both institutions will publish a joint volume comprising scholarly articles written by well-known scholars from India and Sri Lanka. The publication is intended to provide historical as well as contemporary perspectives on the bilateral relations between the two countries and strategies to further develop those relations.  It is expected the publication will be released in 2022.
