PM congratulates Mahathir

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday extended his congratulations to his new Malaysian counterpart, Mahathir Mohamad, following his election win. 

Given below is Wickremesinghe’s full message. 

   I have great pleasure in extending my warmest felicitations to Your Excellency on your victory in the recent general elections in Malaysia.

I am confident that your wisdom and diverse experience, combined with commitment and vision, would guide Malaysia to greater heights of prosperity.

Sri Lanka and Malaysia enjoy a traditional and longstanding friendship which has reached new dimensions. I am confident that these close and cordial relations will be further strengthened and consolidated in the years ahead for the mutual benefit of our countries.
