PM welcomes G7 decision to assist SL

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday welcomed the Group of Seven (G7) decision to assist Sri Lanka in securing debt relief in its worst economic crisis.

The G7, is an organisation of the world’s seven largest so-called ‘advanced’ economies, which dominate global trade and the international financial system. They are: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the United States.

“I welcome the G7 announcement that they will assist Sri Lanka in securing debt relief. The continued engagement by the international community with Sri Lanka is key to overcoming the economic crisis,” Premier Wickremesinghe said in a tweet yesterday.
