PUCSL approves over 3-hour power cuts from 25-27 April

Further continuing the daily power cuts, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) yesterday announced three hours and 20 minutes load shedding from today till 27 April, as requested by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

“In the event that the CEB is compelled to take demand management measures due to inadequate generation as result of fuel shortage, hydro storage and unavailability of generators, measures will be limited to the three hours and 20 minutes from 25 to 27 April,” the PUCSL said.

The approved power cut is one hour less than the CEB’s original request made for four hours and 30 minutes.

For areas A-L, two-hour power cuts will be imposed between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to areas, whilst one hour and 20 minutes from 5 p.m. to 8:10 p.m. For areas P-W, two-hour power cuts will be imposed between 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8:10 p.m.

A straight there-hour power cut will be imposed to CC area between 6 a.m. and 9:20 a.m.
