Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Aslat visited the Port of Colombo this week on a replenishment visit on its return voyage from Bali, Indonesia, where it participated in the multinational naval exercise Komodo-25 organised by the Indonesian Navy.

PNSs are regularly deployed under Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) to fulfil the international obligation for maritime security, ensure freedom of navigation in high seas, and safeguard global commons. Its participation in Exercise Komodo-25 underscores the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to international maritime collaboration. Prior to the exercise, PNS Aslat also visited Colombo, Sri Lanka.

During the port call, the PNS Aslat Commanding Officer met the Commander Western Naval Area and Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters Director General Operations and discussed matters of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in all spheres.

During its return voyage, PNS Aslat conducted “PASSAGE Exercise” with Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Ship Samudura, aimed at enhancing the interoperability and mutual coordination between the two navies.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan enjoy brotherly relations which have strengthened over time. Such visits provide ample opportunity for Pakistani and Sri Lankan naval officers and men to learn through professional interactions with their counterparts and to enhance interoperability and mutual coordination.
