Parliament business committee meeting postponed

A meeting of the business committee in Parliament scheduled for today was postponed after several MPs said they were concerned about their personal security.

The meeting had been scheduled to discuss a date to debate a motion against President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena had in a telephone call to the president, requested him to summon Parliament urgently.
