Parliament yesterday observed a minute silence for late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and others who were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
Observing of a minute’s silence was proposed by Chief Government Whip Prasanna Ranatunga.
The Government declared Monday (21) a national mourning day in respect of the late Iranian President. Flags at all State institutions, ministries and departments should fly at half-mast today, Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry Secretary Pradeep Yasaratne informed.
