Parliament to convene for four days next week

The next sittings of the Parliament is scheduled to be held from 22 to 25 February, the Parliament Communications Department said.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena yesterday.

Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake said Parliament will convene on 22 February  at 10 a.m. and Orders under the Licensing Act for Product Brokers and Regulations under the Rubber Replanting Subsidy Act will be debated and approved from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

It was also agreed to hold the adjournment debate on 23 February from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on a motion moved by the Opposition.
