Pathfinder and Xinhua collaborate to publish ‘China Watch’

The Pathfinder Foundation (PF) and the Xinhua News Agency signed an agreement to jointly publish ‘China Watch’. This is another pioneering initiative of the PF and its China-Sri Lanka Cooperation Studies Centre (CSLCSC). 

Xinhua, the official news agency in China is the largest, authoritative and most influential media establishment in China. Within the Chinese government Xinhua is a ministry level organisation. Most importantly Xinhua news agency operates over 170 foreign bureaus internationally. In China 31 bureaus (one for each province) are operational. 

The Xinhua News Agency delegation led by Chen Yao, Vice-president, Xinhua’s Asia Pacific Regional Bureau, Hong Kong and consisted of Zhu Yu, Director of Video, Zhang Ning, Associate senior editor, Liu Tian, Chief Correspondent of Islamabad Bureau, Qiu Bo, Correspondent of TV news Dep, Tang Lu, Chief Correspondent and Zhu Ruiqing, Correspondent of Colombo and Male Bureau Chief, Xinhua News Agency.

The delegation met with Pathfinder Foundation Founder Milinda Moragoda and his team: Amb Bernard Goonetilleke, Chairman, Luxman Siriwardena, Executive Director, Dr. Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Director, Sheran Fernando, Managing Director – Innosolve Lanka Ltd. and Yasalani Amarasinghe – Project Manager.
