Police to get 480 new motorcycles

• David Peiris Motor Company wins bid to provide 125cc motorcycles
• Motorcycles meant to enhance Police’s capacity 

The Cabinet has approved Sri Lanka Police’s purchase of 480 motorcycles, each valued at Rs. 322,650, from David Peiris Motor Company Lanka Ltd, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet-Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC)

A decision was made to purchase 480 125cc motorcycles by calling for bids under the National Competitive Bidding Method to improve the capacity of the Police.

This was in keeping with a proposal made in the 2017 Budget. The price of Rs. 322,650 for each motorcycle is inclusive of all taxes.
