Policeman killed while rescuing flood-affected people promoted

A Policeman who was killed while rescuing flood affected people has been posthumously promoted to the rank of Sergeant. The body of the policeman was found today. The policeman was swept away by flood waters while he was attempting to rescue people trapped in Madampe on Friday. The Police said that the 29-year-old policeman had attempted to rescue three people who were stranded in Metihena, Madampe when he was swept away.
