Polling time extended by one hour

The Elections Commission (EC) yesterday said that polling time of the Parliamentary Election has been extended from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Releasing a short statement, the Commission said the revised polling time will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The press release did not give reasons for the expansion of voting time but it is likely that the decision was made to give the public enough time to vote while adhering to social distancing measures which have been introduced as part of the COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
