Poppy flowers pinned on Speaker to commemorate Poppy Day 2020

The pinning of the poppy flower on Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena by the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen Association (SLESA) Poppy Committee Chairman Group Captain (retd) Kumar Kirinde took place on Tuesday at the Parliamentary premises. Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake was also present at the occasion.

General Secretary of SLESA Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Ajith Siyambalapitiya and poppy committee members were also present at the occasion.

The Poppy campaign is part of the armed forces remembrance day which falls on 8 November.
