Presenting ‘National Security Think Tank Defence Review 2018’

‘INSSSL Defence Review 2018’ second volume, published by the National Security think tank the Institute of National Security Studies Sri Lanka (INSSSL) was presented to President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena by Director General Asanga Abeyagoonasekera on 21 August. 

The Defence Review 2018 carries research papers of local and international scholars on important thematic areas of politicisation of intelligence, strategy to overcome maritime blindness, maritime silk road Japan’s Indo-Pacific engagement utility of a Sri Lanka-Japan strategic partnership and many more important topics. 

INSSSL established in 2016, functions under the Ministry of Defence as the only national security think tank of Sri Lanka with civilian military researchers, researching on areas of national security concerns of the nation with the leadership of Maithripala Sirisena who is the President of INSSSL and Kapila Waidyaratne PC Secretary Defence, Chairman of the institute.
