President participates in Ashirwada Bodhi Pooja in Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara to seek blessings for N

President Maithripala Sirisena participated in Ashirwada Bodhi Pooja held on Wednesday at the historic Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, the sacred place blessed by the Buddha’s second visit to Sri Lanka, to seek blessings for the New Year.

The President who visited the temple first engaged in religious observances and secured blessings and later joined in listening to the Dhamma Sermon by Ven. Kotapola Amarakitti Thero.

The Maha Sangha chanting the Seth Pirith invoked the blessings on the President. 

The Maha Sangha including Venerable Professor Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkhitha Thera, the Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Ministers and MPs and devotees participated in this religious ceremony.
