Prime Minister welcomes media guidelines by Election Commission

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe welcomed the new media guidelines gazetted by the Elections Commission to be presented in Parliament for approval. 

Once passed in Parliament, the guidelines will become law, requiring all media institutions to abide by the regulations. 

Another milestone for the Good Governance mandate of the current Government, this will contribute towards holding free and fair elections in the future, establishing unbiased and fair reporting by media houses.
