Protests prohibited due to risk of COVID-19 spread

Instructions were yesterday issued by the Director General of Health Services to the Inspector General of Police that large gatherings and protests will not be permitted due to a risk of COVID-19 spread.

This was issued as a special quarantine order and Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said: “if any party violates this quarantine order, the Sri Lanka Police will take action against such persons under the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance.”
