Public Security Minister requests Police to allow public services despite protests 

Public Security Minister Prasanna Ranatunga yesterday requested the Police to ensure that public services are maintained as normal despite protests.

The Minister has requested for services to be maintained, for ambulances carrying patients, school vans, office services, export zone workers, tourist vehicle and essential goods and services transportation to be allowed to proceed without any hindrances during the protests and demonstrations.

Therefore, the IGP has been told to instruct the Police to discuss with the demonstrators to allow such vehicular movement to continue as usual amidst protests.
