Rajitha given bail

• Rajitha’s Secretary issued travel ban

Former Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne was yesterday granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

The Magistrate Court released him on two Rs. 500,000 personal bail bonds.  

Addressing the media outside the hospital where Dr. Senaratne was being treated, his son Chathura Senaratne said that medical reports regarding the Parliamentarian’s health had been submitted to the Courts, pointing out that his condition was still serious.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayarathna also issued a travel ban on MP Senaratne’s Secretary, Muhammad Rumi Muhammad Azzem. A directive barring Azzem from leaving the country without the Court’s permission has been sent to the Controller General of Immigration.
