Ranil following in the footsteps of Gota says Sajith

• Accuses Wickremesinghe of providing relief and benefits to country’s rich 
• Says Govt. is not concerned about  well-being of people 
• Assures SJB will not join current Govt. under any circumstances 

Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa on Thursday accused President Ranil Wickremesinghe of following in the footsteps of former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. 

“Gotabaya Rajapaksa granted various forms of relief and benefits to the ultra-rich while leading the country towards bankruptcy. President Ranil Wickremesinghe is carrying out the same,” Premadasa said. The opposition leader made these comments during a meeting with the party’s former Local Council members and candidates in the Monaragala district. 

The opposition leader also claimed the Government is not concerned about the country’s people. “This was exemplified in the manner the Government acted with regard to the revision of electricity tariffs,” he said. 

Premadasa slammed Wickremesinghe for protecting those who stole public monies and led the country down the path of destruction. “The Samagi Jana Balawegaya will not join such a shortsighted Government,” he said.
