Ranjan sent to quarantine

SJB MP Ranjan Ramanayake, who was served with four years rigorous imprisonment yesterday after being found guilty of contempt of court, was sent to the Correctional Centre for Youth Offenders in Pallansena for quarantine, according to Prison Department Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake.

“I am not afraid brother (Malli), I have not and will not apologise. I said the truth. Don’t be afraid to speak the truth. I have not smuggled narcotics or ethanol. I tried to expose criminals, and this is where that landed me,” Ramanayake told reporters as he boarded the prison bus. (AF)
