Rasika Jayakody and Lihini Fernando file FR petitions against 20A

Rasika Jayakody and Attorney-at-law Lihini Fernando from the Samagi Tharuna Balawegaya filed two Fundamental Rights petitions against the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution.

In the two petitions, they argued on numerous counts, inter alia, that the proposed 20th Amendment Is in violation of Article 3 and Article 4 of the Constitution.

Six parties, including Samagi Jana Balawegaya General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara and TNA Leader R. Sampanthan, filed FR petitions against the proposed Amendment yesterday.
