SJB leader Sajith Premadasa
A group of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MPs have written to party leader Sajith Premadasa urging him to enact reforms within the party to secure success in the upcoming elections.
Reports suggest that the letter, endorsed by 18 MPs, has appealed for certain changes to be instituted by both the party leader and the party as a whole.
According to sources, the group had held a special discussion with SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara prior to submitting the letter.
During the meeting, it had been proposed that a special committee must be established to offer advice to senior members, led by the party leader before they make decisions on national issues.
It had also been emphasized that SJB party leaders must alter the manner in which they address issues concerning the public.
The letter from the MPs, outlining these proposals, has been submitted to Madduma Bandara to be handed over to party leader Sajith Premadasa.
