SL to open diplomatic missions in Spain and Romania

Cabinet yesterday approved a proposal by Foreign Affairs Minister Dinesh Gunawardena to establish Sri Lankan Embassies in Spain and Romania.

The proposal is aimed at furthering bilateral relations with European Union (EU) member countries.

Sri Lanka has sound bilateral relationship with Romania, having established diplomatic relations 1957 while diplomatic relations between Spain and Sri Lanka commenced in 1955.
