Sri Lanka is due to receive four million doses of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine today, raising the total number of Sinopharm doses the country has received to 22 million.
According to the Embassy of China in Sri Lanka, this is the largest batch of vaccine doses received in a day.
The first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 9,966,820 persons in Sri Lanka and 7,016,449 persons have received the second dose as well. On Thursday, 24,658 persons received the first dose of the vaccine and 207,787 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
On Thursday, 3,055 persons received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 296 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. A total of 1,392,807 persons received the first dose of AstraZeneca, out of which 886,261 persons have received the second dose as well.
The first dose of Moderna has been administered to 772,024 persons and the second dose has been administered to 685,377 persons. This includes persons vaccinated on Thursday, when 237 persons received the first dose of Moderna and 270 persons received the second dose.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 7,573 persons received the first dose of Pfizer on Thursday and 587 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. A total of 313,994 persons have received the first dose of Pfizer while 187,606 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine as well.
The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,088 persons and the second dose of the vaccine has been administered to 25,489 persons.
A total of 244,463 persons received COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday and the Epidemiology Unit states that 76.6% of the country’s population over 30 has received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The first dose of a vaccine has been administered to a total of 12,604,733 persons and the second dose has been administered to 8,801,182 persons.
