Sajith and Prof. Abeywickrama elected Co-Chairs of Caucus on Climate

The first meeting to re-establish the Caucus on Climate for the 10th Parliament was held on 8 January, where Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and MP Prof. L.M. Abeywickrama were elected as Co-Chairs of the Caucus.

In addition, MPs Nalin Bandara and Asitha Niroshana Egoda Vithana were elected as Deputy Co-Chairs of the Caucus, while MPs Rohini Kumari Wijerathna and Anushka Thilakarathne were elected as Co-Conveners of the Caucus.

Addressing the Caucus, the Co-Chairs stated that at a time when global attention is focused on climate change, they aim to collectively discuss the impacts on Sri Lanka and the steps to be taken in response, with a view to implementing future action plans.
