Second participatory planning workshop on court automation project a success

The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka together with Ministry of Justice recently completed the second successful participatory planning workshop on the court automation project. 

The main objective of this workshop was to record and discuss the main challenges and risks of the court automation project and the expectation of the proposed system users. The automation of the courts systems in Sri Lanka with digital solutions is a long-felt need. 

With the approval of the Cabinet Ministers, an MOU signed between MOJ, MOT, JSC and ICTA. This project aims to implement a state-of-the-art ICT based court management system in 100 courthouses in Sri Lanka. 

The main objective of this project is to improve efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and public confidence of the court system in Sri Lanka through establishing a state-of-the-art ICT based court management system in 100 court houses.

Minister of Justice Ali Sabri, Judge of the Supreme Court Justice S. Thurairaja, Judge of the Court of Appeal Justice K.P. Fernando and several High Court judges, District Court judges, magistrates and court staff including chief registrars participated in this workshop.
