As a result, former Attorney General Rajaratnam PC retired on Wednesday (26).
In the first vote, the Constitutional Council voted against extending his service by five votes, with only three MPs in favour. Despite criticism from the political, legal, and civil society sectors, the Council rejected the proposal a second time.
