The visiting United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Asia Robert Kaproth on Tuesday called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Treasury and the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung held discussions with the President on Sri Lanka’s plans to implement economic reforms in line with the agreement negotiated with the International Monetary Fund.
Ambassador Chung emphasised that the political will and strong actions will help to get the economy back on track.
United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Asia Robert Kaproth arrived earlier this week for a second time in four months to discuss the future program for the economic recovery of Sri Lanka.
During his stay Kaproth held talks with high-ranking representatives of the Government and economic experts.
